Project
Through the JTF program, funding has been secured for the realization of a (pilot) production facility. The first factory is located in Maastricht, at the former ENCI site, and serves as a starting point for processing thermoset materials across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, while introducing customers to Compressite® products.
This facility is capable of producing components ranging from 0.4 to 6 meters in length and weighing between 10 and 500 kg, with a total processing capacity of up to 10,000 tonnes per year.
Objective
With this project, KoiosTitan aims to realize a demonstration plant where fibre-reinforced thermoset composites can be processed into new products – both short and long – in an environmentally responsible manner and for a wide range of applications.
The Prolatherm® technology will be demonstrated at commercial scale, creating a high-value and sustainable end-of-life solution for a material stream that is currently largely unutilized.
Expected Results
The project will result in the delivery of a full-scale industrial installation capable of processing at least 10,000 tonnes of fibre-reinforced thermoset composite waste annually:
- Fully operational demonstration plant
- 43 kton CO₂ reduction by 2030
- 17,300 tonnes annual reduction in the use of primary raw materials such as hardwood, concrete, and steel
- Introduction of circular products made from fibre-reinforced thermoset composites
